We are incredibly grateful to Michael Bombar for becoming an owner in Mighty Nice to honor the memory of Bruce Duchossois.
Jerome and Sarah Broussard
Sarah, her father, Jerome, and her late mother, Rebecca, are legends in the sport of eventing. Not only do they host one of the best events at their Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Montana, but they are constantly involved in the sport. Rebecca believed in giving riders of all levels a chance in the sport and supported so many riders over the years. Her daughter and husband now continue on with this tradition. Sarah and Jerome are members of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate. We are so proud to have the Broussards as part of our team and appreciate so much their support and dedication.
Bridget and Mark Colman
Bridget and Mark are fairly new to the sport of eventing. Enthusiastic horse owners, they enjoy watching their daughters Allegra and Mia ride their homebred, Sir Jeffery. They are owners in Mr. Candyman and members of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate.
Jodi and her daughter, Jilli, fell in love with riding and eventing a few years ago. Jodi rides her beloved Beau on the weekends and is now a crucial member of the organizing committee of the Millbrook Horse Trials. Jilli has been riding her new pony Dollar in local events and has been competing at the Beginner Novice level. Jodi is an owner in Sea of Clouds, a young horse that is going Training level. No one cheers louder than Jodi at the water complex at Rolex!
Bruce passed away in 2014 but will always be remembered as one of our most dedicated supporters and dearest friends. He owned the great Hannigan before the horse’s untimely passing. He also owned the quirky yet charismatic Connaught, who won Rolex in 2008 and represented the U.S. at the Beijing Olympics, and passed away the same year as Bruce.
Sue and Shawn Foley
Sue and Shawn own one of our most exciting young prospects in Fernhill Singapore, who won his first CCI* at Virginia Horse Trials in 2015. We’re looking forward to seeing where the future takes this horse.
David and Candace Garrett
David and Candace joined the PDE team in 2015 when they sent D.O.D. Rockefeller to us to get some mileage on the East Coast. They recently purchased Paul Tapner’s four-star partner Indian Mill as a potential Young Riders mount for their daughter, Holland, and we’re looking forward to having the horse in our barn for the 2016 season.
Annie was Phillip’s first owner in the U.S., buying a share in True Blue Girdwood, Phillip’s Atlanta Olympics Gold Medal horse. Annie is an avid horsewoman, growing up in the Thoroughbred industry, and she now regularly foxhunts. Annie’s string of wonderful horses includes Cayman Went; The Foreman; Woodburn, who represented the U.S. at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky.; TruLuck, who won Team Gold and Individual Silver at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio. She is a half owner in Fernhill Fugitive, full owner of The Manager, a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate and also an owner in Mighty Nice, Fernhill Singapore, Mr. Candyman and Z. Annie is a founding member of the Eventing Owners Task Force.
Kevin is a critical part of our team in many ways: a valued veterinarian who has treated our horses for decades, a longtime student who has now competed through the CCI4* level, and an owner in Mighty Nice. We don’t know what we would do without Kevin.
Suzanne Lacy is a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate, as well as an owner in Z. She owns and operates Sandy River Equestrian Center in Axton, Virginia, with her husband, Rusty. We’re very grateful to have her partner with us in such special horses.
Mrs. Mars needs no introduction. A longtime supporter of the sport of eventing and of David and Karen O’Connor, she now supports up-and-coming riders like Hannah Sue Burnett and Lauren Kieffer. Ms. Mars is a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate.
Caroline is an accomplished equestrian in her own right and competes at the Winter Equestrian Festival in the winter and throughout the country in the hunter/jumpers. A champion at Devon many times, Caroline, is new to the event world. With her homebred, Nicole, Caroline is looking to see what her horse can accomplish in this sport. Caroline is a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate, a half owner in Good Enough, and an owner in Mighty Nice, Fernhill Cubalawn, Mr. Candyman and Z.
Graham and Anita Motion
Graham Motion trained Icabad Crane to a third-place finish in the 2008 Preakness Stakes before ultimately retiring him to train with Phillip Dutton Eventing for a second career in eventing. Advocates of showing the versatility of the Thoroughbred breed, Graham and Anita have been wonderful supporters of Icabad’s new career, and we are so excited to have them along on the journey with this special horse.
John and Kristine Norton
John and Kristine Norton agreed to purchase Good Enough in partnership with Caroline Moran after our longtime owner and dear friend Bruce Duchossois passed away in 2014. We can’t thank John and Kristine enough for helping to keep Goody in our program.
Simon has been an integral part of our team since becoming an owner in both Fernhill Fugitive and Fernhill Cubalawn. Both horses finished in the top 10 in their first four-star at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2015, and we look forward to celebrating many more achievements with Simon. He is also now an owner in Z.
Bill and Kate Simmeth
Bill and Kate are new members of our team as owners of the talented, young off-track Thoroughbred UBQuiet. We are very excited to see what Stuart accomplishes in 2016 and looking forward to the start of the new season.
Stephanie is an avid horsewoman, owning a number of champion steeplechase horses in the past. She also loved to foxhunt until a hip injury kept her out of the irons. Stephanie owned the lovely Anzac Cove, who became an event horse after a successful steeplechase career. Stephanie is a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate.
Tom is an enthusiastic and committed equestrian who is fairly new to the sport of eventing. He owns and competes his own Otter and is a half owner in Fernhill Fugitive, as well as an owner in Fernhill Cubalawn, Fernhill Singapore and Z; he is also a member of the Mr. Medicott Syndicate. Tom also plays an active role in the USEF Event Owners Task Force.
Augie and Joyce Vettorino
Augie and Joyce have owned many horses over the years, including the talented and decorated Drizzle and the infamous Amazing Odyssey. For the past few years, Augie has campaigned his beloved Clifton Gee through the Intermediate level. Augie and Joyce spend a lot of time in their winter home in Aiken, S.C., where you can always see Augie cheering on his friends and fellow riders.
Dave and Patricia Vos
Dave and Patricia are new members of the PDE team and owners of the exciting young Irish Sport Horse Sportsfield Candy. Phillip will be competing Candy at the Intermediate/two-star level in 2016, and we are excited for what the new season will bring. Dave is also an event rider himself and has competed his horse Spring Centurion at Plantation Field CIC* and Virginia Horse Trials CCI*.
