John and Kristine Norton’s I’m Sew Ready jumped clear with 5.6 time penalties on cross country to finish third at Great Meadow International. We’re still working on Jackson’s fitness, so I was really pleased with the result. Team USA swept the top three individual spots and won the Nations Cup for the second consecutive year. Congrats to Jennie Brannigan and Tim & Nina Gardner on the win with Cambalda!
The success of an event revolves around the cross country course. With Mike Etherington-Smith as the designer, we all have confidence that if you really ride positive and forward you will give your horse a good experience. The course is getting a little bit more difficult every year, and we were lucky to have a lot of rain ahead of the event. As the footing continues to improve, the event will only get better.
Thank you to all for their hard work to make the Nations Cup a success. Thank you also to Emma Ford, who kept Jackson feeling his best all weekend in the Virginia heat. I’m incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic team!
