Fernhill Revelation, I’m Sew Ready and Z all jumped clear show jumping rounds today to finish 2nd, 3rd and 6th in the Advanced division at Millbrook Horse Trials. I was especially happy with The Revelation Group’s Fernhill Revelation, and I think the time spent show jumping at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show last week at The Kentucky Horse Park really paid off for him.
It was ideal having Richard Picken to warm up and watch and then tweak the ride Warren needs to jump his best. We tried different strategies in Kentucky, and riding him more forward and then shortening his canter stride to make him more compact before the jump really gets him in the air.
John and Kristine Norton’s I’m Sew Ready also jumped really well today. Going fast on cross country is not the easiest thing for Jackson, so we will keep focusing on fine-tuning his fitness before we make the trip to France for Pau in October. I couldn’t be more excited about Z, owned by Thomas Tierney, Simon Roosevelt, Suzanne Martin Lacy, Ann Jones and Caroline Moran. He is the best jumper I’ve ever had at this level. We’ll keep chipping away at the dressage and getting him stronger and more mentally mature.
Fernhill Singapore, owned by Shawn and Sue Foley, Tom Tierney and Annie Jones, also jumped a clear round today to finish 2nd in his Intermediate division. He is another one with a very exciting future ahead!
Millbrook is a special event for our family and our team, and it was wonderful to have so many owners and friends at the event to support us and cheer us on. It was also special to have a #TeamLeeLee jump on both the cross country course and show jumping course. Thank you to the entire Millbrook team for supporting Lee Lee!
